I am shipping my film to Cinelab, what is important for me to know?
Following these tips will help us process your order quickly and efficiently and get it back to you the way you want it. First, make sure you fill out the order form completely and all information is clearly legible. Package your film in light-safe, taped cans. Indicate “FILM- NO XRAY” on the outside of the package. Each film can should be labeled indicating 1: Type of film, emulsion number, camera roll # and project title with your name and any special instructions.

Do you process reversal film?
Yes, we process reversal for B&W 16mm and Super 8mm films. We start running E6 Ektachrome color reversal in May 2018 and we can cross process this type of film as a negative.

Do you have Data scan capabilities?

Can I supply my own tape stock or portable hard drive for the transfer?
Yes, however, there is no guarantee against defects in the tape or the failure of your hard drive. How many stops can film be pushed/pulled? Two stops is the maximum this lab will push or pull film. We can only push or pull BW reversal one stop.

Can I shoot old film and what might the results be?
In general dated film has lower contrast and increased grain - this is called base fog. You should always shoot a test roll to determine the state of the stock before you begin shooting your film. We advise that you do not use dated film if the footage is critical. Older forms of ektachrome or kodachrome may require an antiquated developing process and you should call the lab to ask if it is possible for us to work with it. If not we may be able to reccommend a lab who can.

Do you do tail tests?
Yes we do. They cost $10 per tail test.
